RE: BSA scopes

I own 4 Tascos. One of them is on my 300 Win Mag. It has had at least 300 rounds through it. POI has never changed. I have had 3 Simmons scopes. All three have gone blurry or changes the POI even on a .22 rim fire.

BSA' s make GREAT paint stirrers and papertowel tubes!!!

Whatever the " holding" company is named, they own Tasco, Weaver, Simmons and even the reminents of the old Redfield company as was told to me by the companies very own sales rep a couple of weeks ago! I have' nt heard the Bushnell-Tasco connection but would' nt dismiss it as hearsay either. Mergers, buyouts and bankruptcies are as common right now in the hunting business as anywhere else.

Now to answer the boys question. I would MUCH rather have a " Trashco" World Class 3x9x40 than ANYTHING made by BSA. Neither scopes are very good and they might last 20 years or they might last 20 rounds, it strictly varies by complete odds. The $60 you spend on a World Class would be MUCH better saved and added too and wait until you can scratch up enough for at least a 3x9x40 Prostaff Nikon or for a few dollars more the VX I 3x9x40 Leupold. Either scope will last you for many years and perform MUCH better than ANY of the cheap Asian papertowel tubes of brands xyz...

Really do scrimp and scratch for that extra $80-$100, you' ll come out money ahead in a realitive short time!

I have a BSA on my 22-250 and I have to agree with everyone else here thing aint worth a crap. POI constantly changes, blurry the adjustments suck. I am saving up for a better scope for next spring.

I have a BSA 6 -24 x 50 on my 22-250 and there are quite a few coyotes and red fox that could have testified on how well it worked. Granted the scope is a little fuzzier than other brands, but for the price you can' t beat it. my last kill on a coyote was at 260 yds 15 min before sunup on patchy snow and i never had a problem zeroing in on him.

Spend the money on the glass. Have owned Bushnell scopes and while they were accurate you lose opportunity in low light conditions. Can' t shoot what you can' t see. Leupold or Nikon.

I HAD A FRIEND ( WELL I GUESS IT WAS A FRIEND) TELL METHAT BSA WERE GOOD SCOPES SO I PURCHASED ONE FOR MY NEW .270 WSM. 3X12X50. I HAVE NEVER HAD IT LOOSE POI BUT IT IS THE WORST LIGHT GATHERING SCOPE I HAVE EVER SEEN . ON ONE HUNTING TRIP MY DUAGHTER WAS CARRYING ENF .243 WITH A NIKON 3X9X40 AT THE FIRST DAYLIGHT I COULDNT SEE ANY THING THRU THE BSA BUT THE NIKON LIT UP THE WHOLE AREA LIKE DAYLIGHT AND IS 10MM SMALLER. DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND LOOK AT THE NEW NIKON PRO STAFFS THEY ARE AROUND 160.00 AND ARE WELL WORTH IT. I PERSONALY WILL NEVER OWN A BSA OR TASCO AGIN.

I have a BSA 3-9 50mm w/illuminated crosshairs. It aims fine on 3x cause thats what i sighted in on. if i zoom up to 9x, the point of impact progressively goes off to the upper left hand side as i zoom and is off of bullseye by 3 inches at 100 yards. I just keep it on 3x with no problem but i would NEVER get another one.
