Browning BPS

I have my eye on one of these in 12 gauge, one of the Medallion models that has been discontinued. This one has a 26 inch barrel. Being a lefty when it comes to shooting the safety and extraction downward are a plus. Does anyone have any opinions on these shotguns, good or bad? Thanks.

I have one of the early models in synthetic and it is my go to shotgun for goose hunting when it gets OMFG cold!!!!!!! It has NEVER let me down yet!!!! I leave both my Super X2, X3 and Auto-Gold at home then!!!!

I can't speak for the newer models, but if it's as good as the older BPS's it will be a great gun!

I own an older synthetic model in the 26" version and I like it. Planning on making it my new turkey gun.

Many thanks guys. I really don't need another shotgun, if I can get it at a reasonable price one of my grandsons should enjoy it. When you get old you notice a beautiful gun more then a beautiful woman, and they are usually a lot less trouble.

OK, I won the auction but I do not have the gun yet. I did get the serial # and was surprised to learn that it was made in 1990. I checked that out with Browning so it is correct. That year gun uses the Invector choke tubes, not the Invector Plus. It has a full in it so I will have to run down a modified. Does anyone have an opinion on the older system vs. the newer "Plus" system? Did I buy some trouble?

Never shot a 10, ouch. I've shot a 12 with 3.5" and that was enough!

My understanding is that the only difference between Invector and Invector+ is the latter are over-bored (like my Winchester SXP, which uses Invector+). I suppose the new models might have a slight advantage in patterning, but honestly, I doubt one could notice a major difference.
If you ever shoot rifled slugs, it'll probably be more accurate than the newer models.

Thanks Younggun. I have been reading up on the Invector system, someone wrote that the plus system has a .740 bore while the old system has a .728 bore. It is supposed to improve patterns and velocity to some degree. I tracked down a modified tube and a wrench, it is supposed to have a full tube in it. I bought it because it was pretty, won't use it much because I don' use my old Savage pump much. Thanks again.
