Smile How good are Howa Rifles?

How good are the Howa rifles? I like the looks and the feel of them. Where are they made at? Any input would be helpful.

made in japan, but pretty good rifles, sold as the weatherby vanguard, they use to be sold as the S&W1500, nothing wrong with them.

Yep, very good rifles with a good 2 piece trigger and all have a 3 position safety!

The older ones have two way safeties. Also Mossberg had their name on it too, as the Mossberg 1500, 1550, and 1700 I have 2 vanguards, a smith and wesson, and a howa. All nice rifles, a real bargain. Personally I liked them better with the older two way safety.

The comment in my post was based on the idea that the OP sounded like he's talking about buying a new gun!

Very good. I'd buy another in an instant if I needed another rifle.

My 14 year old farm beater is a Howa .243. It is an accurate and extremely reliable rifle. Early on, I free floated the very flexible Tupperware stock. That rifle goes through hell riding on tractors, 4 wheeler, pickup, etc., in all sorts of weather, and it never fails. I do clean it occasionally.

Great rifles. Action platform is shared with the Weatherby Vanguard among others and also the newer Nosler rifles copied it. I have one in .243 with the Hogue stock, picked it up almost new for $290. Can't beat em.
