Your opinions on the Nikon 3x9x40

I' m looking at the Nikon scopes and was wondering what the differance is in the 3x9x40 Pro-Staff and the 3x9x40 Buckmaster. The only thing I noticed is the Pro-Staff seems to have better Eye-Relief. I' m seriously considering the Pro-Staff but I want to get your opinions first. Keep in mind we are only talking about fifty dollars differance between the two. Pro-Staff= $149.00 Buckmaster= $199.00 I have limited myself to no more than $200.00 I plan to upgrade next year.

Lets here it......

Coating on the optics are the main difference. The Pro Staff is the entry level scope with coated optics. The Buckmaster is the next level up with Multi-coated optics. The Monarch UCC is the top of the line with Fully Multi-coated Optics.

If it were me, I' d get the Buckmaster. A little better scope and you can find them all over the place for 199.00. Then you won' t have to upgrade at all.

I picked up the 3-9X40 Buckmaster on Ebay " Buy it Now" brandy new in the box for $145 for my inline muzzleloader, so you can find the better scope for the same price as the Pro-Staff if you look around.
I really like the Buckmaster scope........nice eye relief, and good and clear.

I paid $149 for my buckmaster but I' m not a 100% sold on the clarity so I went to the Monarch on my next scope for $209 which was the best deal I could find . Its a much better scope in my opinion .

The Prostaff is a fine scope. I have one on my .300 Mag.

The Buckmaster is a fine scope for the money. I have one on a Browning BLR .270 and love it. A friend of mine couldn' t stand that mine was brighter in low light than his bushnell elite so he went and bought a Zeiss Conquest. He had to spend more than twice as much to gain about 5 minutes more shooting time.

Thanks guys. I bought the Prostaff. I' m happy with it. It' s great on my .308. Next season I' m gonna put it on my 30-30 and get something else with a better field of view @300 yards for the .308. Unless I change my mind before the end of this season. Good luck with the season guys, hope you get a bigun.
