Ruger test
 

I wanted a inexpensive rifle, got a Ruger American in 308 caliber
I am very pleased, this thing is accurate with 150 grain ammo right off the shelf, is light weight, easy to handle, does not have recoil that I expected
tested at 100 ----- 400 yds have a Nikon 4.5 x 14 milldot on it got 1.5 inch group at 200 yds using a lead sled, 3 inch group at 400 awesome gun for the price. I am itching to try 500 or 600 yds soon

I have heard that about the Ruger American. Sounds usable to me! Good luck.

I've never encountered a Ruger that wouldn't shoot great with some tuning. One that does it right out of the box is a rare treasure.
