Shopping for an AR

In the tragic light of whats happened I have decided to buy an AR. I have long been thinking about buying one but have yet to do so. Now with the renewed gun control debate I have a feeling big changes are coming so I want to buy an AR before I cant. I am pretty much strictly a hunter and do not know much about them or any brand advantages over others. Does anyone have any suggestions on brand, make, model, or caliber? Any information would be appreciated!!!

If your a hunter the 6.5mm, 6.8mm or 30Rem is what I would be looking for in calibers.

If you want to buy one better act quickly. Many gun shops are now out of stock on any of the AR type guns. Same thing with the ammo.

+100. I'm sure we will be looking at another AWB. That said, for hunting I'll suggest something different...a 6.5 Grendel. That's what I got and it is a well built, very accurate weapon. Check Alexander Arms first.

I really don't plan on using it for hunting. For the leisure sport of shooting I suppose. I appreciate the suggestion this far

I was in a gunstore today, they sold 14 Bushmaster AR's today. One guy bought 4, he had a concealed permit so he didnt have to get approved, I bet that call would have throwed up some red flags. They only had two left when I left. No high cap mags left, no 223 or 308 brass. Glad I have a stock pile!

Anyone have any experience with Palmetto State Armory?

I put a Del-Ton Inc upper on a LMT lower. Works great, have not had one problem with this set up. Good luck!

7 mos ago I shot a friend's AR. 6 mos ago I started saving for one for
THIS Christmas... I pre-ordered a DDM4, but this tragedy has wiped out supplies of mags, ammo, sights, slings...basically all things AR

I'll save my brass and start reloading .223
