Remington 870 20ga Recoil Stock?

Does anyone know of an adjustable Recoil stock (not butt pad) for a remington 870 20ga. The 870 12ga is not compatible and trying to get my daughter into deer hunting and have to use a shotgun where we are. Right now it has to much recoil for her and needs a min of 11 1/4 lom. Ideas???

I was thinking of the Compstock (used to be Knoxx now it's Blackhawk) but I'm not sure if it's designed for 12 ga. only or will do 20 ga. also. It's worth a look-see.

It will only fit the 12 ga. With the way the stock mounts, there is about an 1/8" difference and won't fit. I did email them to see why the don't make one for the 20 ga or at least an adapter. Would be a good market for them, for both women and youth shooters. Who knows maybe they'll do something.

I received an email back from them today stating they are in the process of redisn and should have it on the market mid to late 2013.

Looks like you have a project on your hands.

Options:

1. Find the softest recoil pad you can.

2. Shorten stock and stack a couple recoil pads?

3. Handload slugs for softer recoil?

4. Combo of something above?

Good luck and I applaud you for doing the right thing by getting a youngster into hunting in a comfortable manner. I've seen too many guys tell their kids to just toughen up and take the recoil when the kids are clearly afraid of the recoil and the recoil is painful to them. Then they climb all over the kid because they don't shoot as well as Dad expects them too. (Fear and flinching will do that to anyone).

Good man you are bowhuntre. I wish you many rewarding hunts with your daughter.

Have you considered contacting Remington for a youth butt stock for the 20 ga 870? They make them in wood and synthetic.
Or you can order one through Cabelas: http://www.cabelas.com/stocks-grips-...forend-2.shtml
Also Ebay has a few. Here's one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ram-Line-Rem...item416a6e63e2
