Gauge reducers

I' ve noticed in catalogs that they sell gauge reducers. I was thinking of buying a reducer for my 12 so I could hunt quail. Has anybody had experience with these? any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

RE: Gauge reducers

Why can' t you hunt quail with your 12 guage? Use Imp. Cyl. and/or let them get a little farther out before you shoot them. You could also try a lighter shot load and smaller shot to reduce the pattern density and energy a bit so you don' t blow them apart if you have to take a close shot.

I was planning on using my 12 gauge until I saw these reducers for sell. So, I was curious how they worked.

Thanks for the input and good hunting.

I haven' t tried them but from what I read (you know what they say about believing everything you read [&:]) they work reasonably well.

Here is a link that I found helpful.

Well for the $240 you spend on those reducers you can almost buy another shotgun in a smaller bore. You can never have too many guns.
