Remington 600 mohawk ? 243 cal.
I read there was a recall for repair work on the 600's
was it with the A stamped in the serial number or guns recalled without the A ? this rifle has the A stamped into the first serial number The rifle is in excellent shape maybe since new less then a box of shells threw it. I was told it spent it life in the gun safe The stock has a outstanding grain in walnut |

RR I bought my Mohawk 600 .243 new in 1978 and honestly back then wished I'd had a couple hundred bucks more for a Model 70 XTR or 700 BDL. Even a Model 788 if I could've found one. That ugly short barrel, plastic triggerguard, plain hardwood stock with pressed checkering, ... But it turned into what's probably deadliest rifle in the battery on deer-sized game and varmints. A dream to carry, even more so if you're in any kind of brush. The short barrel is no handicap at all, having dusted more than a handful of prairie dogs past 400 yards. It's the rifle I most wanted to trade up from back then, the rifle I'd part with last today. And it never went off when my finger wasn't on the trigger. |

Rem. 600?
If the price is right you need to buy it. I bought a 600 in the mid 70's.
It was in 6mm Rem. For a short barreled rifle it was extremely accurate out to about 300yds. It is the only rifle that I have ever owned for which I have "seller's(trader's) remorse". The trigger problem can be solved with an aftermarket if necessary. GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!! |
I called Remington no probblem with the rifle ist is not on recall because there is a A in the serial number A-------
the ones with out the A are the recall triggers. |

I drag it to the range to day to see if it a shooter or not
IT IS A SHOOTER I loaded up some sierra 85 gr HPBT with IMR 4350 38.0 only got to shoot at the 50 Yd range from the bench 5 shot @ you can cover it with a nickle. I am going to decide if I am going with the nosler BT 95 Gr or Remington 100 CLSP for eastern whitetails:party0005: |
