Bases & Mounts For The Savage 220F
I will be mounting a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40 on this shotgun which bases and mounts are best?
|
Game reaper ded nuts scope mounts model# 18200 they are cut away from the action of the gun and won't interfere with the ejection of shells. Very nice mount!

I put a warne two pc base and warne medium rings on the same Leupold scope. I could not get enough eye relief. I went to a warne tactical one pc base, I couldnt be happier.
I used a aluminum one pc base on my sons Savage 220f and it worked out well also but I prefer the all steel warne one pc base. |
Don't have experience with the Savage but I have used the DNZ's and Warne rings.
Using the DNZ's on my X-Bolt and my T/C Omega and using the Warnes on a T/C Icon. Either mount would be a good choice. The DNZ's may save a little bit of weight. |
Just purchased the EGW picatinny base part #2120 for my Savage 220F
|
Would have told you not to go with a pica-tinny base!!! I had one on my Sav. and it interfered with the ejection of shell, you may want to hold on to the receipt!
|
There are lots of great choices for bases out there. For rings, my favorite set I've used under $100 have been the Burris Signature Zee rings.

friend of mine has the picatinny base on his without any issues, also Savage also to use this base

I have the same egw 1 pc base on one of my Savage 220f it works perfectly well. When you eject shells do not baby the bolt, you have to work the bolt like you mean it.
I have one pc warne tactical on my other Savage and no problems with ejection. |
