I have been doing alot of research on the 7-08 and the is alot of complaints with savage. They are not getting good accuracy becauce the 1:11.5 twist is too slow. They say that 1:9.5 or around there is ideal.

Tried alot of things to get it to shoot...

1. on the 3rd scope already
2. tightened the action screws
3. checked the crown (with que tip) no issues
4. cleaned it repeatedly making sure it was not an issue

At this point i think its just the gun. I am considering getting it back to savage for a look.

If it has the 11 inch twist that is your problem
try a load with a 150 grain then try a 110 or 120 grain and see how it does for accuracy.

That isn't right. Factory ammo should shoot a lot better than that. This is a problem with either your rifle or your scope and mounts. CHeck the scope and mounts first, then send the rifle back to Savage. They'll be good about it.

wonder what is true, cause i bought my 7-08 almost 2 years ago and didnt go with savage because there site showed a 1-11 twist for it, so there site has claimed 1-11 for at least 2 years.
did they correct the site or did they recently change to a 1-9 twist.
