walmart remington 700

well, i took my new 700 30-06 i got at walmart out to site in after puttin on a tru glo scope. i took 5 shots at 100yds with 150gr corelokt. 1st shot was low, so i made some ajustments to the scope, 2nd was off to the right a bit and still low for my likings, so a few more clicks and then i look 3 more shots!
they hit right where i wanted! :s2:

was thinking of getting it bedded.....but maybe it dont need it!

Personally, I wouldn't touch it....you have found a load that your rifle likes...stay with it!

Just fix those rings and you should be all right

DeerandbearhoG 10-31-2010 09:06 AM

Yeah get some warne mounts and rings, personally id even yank the sights, they are pointless on a raised comb stock anyway and are just adding weight . Sweet rifle otherwise, looks like a shooter!

Wish there was a Walmart around that still sold guns. None in WI that I know of. I prefer the small shops or home FFL holders, but sometimes, its nice to get a great deal too. Looks like you got a great shooter, like that stock also!

That's a nice looking stock on your rifle and by those groups I'd say it's a keeper. I'd change the rings also but they'll do for now but leupold rings are good and I've had good luck with weaver rings also.

Your 700 is a keeper!

Walmart in Monroe, WI still sells firearms.

Nothing wrong with that !

Now go practice shooting in field positions.......................

Picked up my new BDL in 30-06 a couple months ago and with two slight adjustments to bring it up and just a tad to the right, it is shooting an inch or less at a hundred consistantly with the Federal soft point 180 grainers and Winchesters 150 grain power max. I've got a Bushnell 4-12x40 Elite 3200 on it--Haven't had the chance to get out to the range with the LSS in .300 Win Mag yet and not sure I want to sight it in with the extremely hard recoil pad thats on it, but Iv'e got a 1 inch medium pad ordered. As I've said before, all my 700's have been good or very good as far as being accurate so I'm not surprised your pleased with that one--and I love those laminated stocks--John

i do plan on upgrading the scope soon and the trigger and when i do that ill drop it and pitch the sites. i want to it out to another range that has up to 400yd lanes to see what it does long distance!! i did take it apart when i got it and sanded the barrel grove on the stock to insure its free floating as it wasnt right out the box. but ya!! im very happy with it! wasnt to sure bout gettin a walmart gun but i did like the stock and only they had it. once again very happy so far!!
