Taurus PT1911

When I had purchased my PT1911 about 18 months ago and reported on it I received several negative feedbacks on it along with some positive ones from other owners. I was invited to a bowling pin shoot last night and competed against shooters using Kimbers, Les Baers, Ed Browns and other high dollar 1911s. There were also a few SIGs thrown in. Well to "toot my own horn" and praise my $500 Taurus, I walked away with first place. Not bad for the first time shooting any handgun competition of any sort. The pistol performed flawlessly as usual and made short work of the pins. Even when one didn't clear the table, a quick follow-up knocked it off supporting the pistol's accuracy. I have a few thousand rounds thru this piston and it has never malfunctioned. No jams, stove pipes, nothing.

Congrats Bronko! Its good to hear success stories of the Taurus PT1911. I got one about a year ago and love it! I would not hesitate to recomend this gun to anyone.
I don't understand the prejudice against the Taurus pistols! Taurus is one of the best "values" on the market. It can't just be the "buy America" crowd, because many of the guns they push are NOT American!
I do believe that "you get what you pay for." But, I also believe that there are "bargain values" out there too, the Taurus PT1911 is one of them! again, congrats Bronko!
