x-bolt vs 700
i know remingtons i own several but i want a browning what i really need is range reports and actual experience with a browning and if they are as good as or better than remington. plus the brownings are already bedded so thats one point for browning i guess

RE: x-bolt vs 700
I'll take the Browning over the Rem any day. As a matter of fact I did just that last weekend! Picked up an X-Bolt in 300 WSM.

Take a look at this one also.
http://www.sakoa7.net/ Both 700 and X-bolt aregood, but this one is smooth and accurate !!! |
RE: x-bolt vs 700
The Remington and the Browning aren't even in the same class! The Browning is MUCH better, more great features, and has better ergonomics than the Remington IMO.

RE: x-bolt vs 700
I won't be getting rid of my 700's to make way for an X-Bolt but my next new rifle purchase will likely be the X-Bolt.
For some reason the A-Bolts did not fit me very well but the few X-Bolts I have handled do. Don't know what the difference is but it's there for me. The synthetic stocked X-Bolt is pretty homely looking but would probably be very durable. |
RE: x-bolt vs 700
I haven't owned an X bolt, but I did own an A-bolt,and I will never own another.I hated the magazine system,as well as the tang safety,so I promptly sold the rifle.Accuracy wise,I saw no real difference between A-bolts and 700s.On the plus side, the X bolt has a new much better thought out magazine system, than the A-bolt had.

RE: x-bolt vs 700
I have 3 700's and one A-Bolt. I'd be hard pressed to pick one over the other. One problem I've had with the Rem 700 and the A-bolt is they all have very crappy triggers from the factory. A trigger job on all of them and they were good to go. I don't know why Remington or Browning can't seem to give me a qaulity trigger from the factory!

RE: x-bolt vs 700
At one time I owned 5 700s. I still own 2 - a .270 and a 30-06. These were the best shooters of the lot and are 30+ years old. The other 3 didn't shoot very well.(another '06, a 308, and a 7-08).
I also own 2 A bolts. Both are Micro Hunters. A 7-08 and a 325 WSM. Both of these needed trigger jobs and the 7-08 needed to be rebedded. However, both of them are very very accurate and have shot sever 5 shot 1/2" groups. The only rifle that has even come close to these A bolts has been my Savage 11 in 7-08. |
