The key here is having a Canadian Dealer that will except a delivery from a US dealer. If they will you can get what your heart desires USUALLY if they won't then you will NEVER get it. If you have a dealer that will work with you e-mail me and I'll do my best to help.

If you are interested in importing a firearm to Canada, as I have recently done, then I suggest you contact www.Questar.ca. They are an import/export company located here in Ontario. They service all of Canada. As stated I recently have done business with them and found them to be very prompt and thorough. They will handle all aspects of the deal, includeing registrations. That is for a fee of course.

If yu need or require more info contact me or e-mail them. I think you will find they are very helpfull.

is it just as hard for a US citizen to get a gun into Canada when coming there for a hunt? Or is this what a citizen of Canada has to do in order to purchase a gun from the states?

Mike,
My dealer/supplier connection is sound. Thanks though. The problem has apparently been getting T/C to take care of their end. Once I went to the media people, after 13 months of waiting, things started happening. The Old Squeaky Wheel Syndrome... You know?

Rem : I was speaking of a Canadian citizen purchasing a firearm in the US and importing it legally into Canada. A US citizen coming to Canada for hunting is an entirely different thing. Handguns cannot be brought in for hunting purposes, or any other purpose other than sanctioned target matches. Rifles and/or shotguns must be declared to Customs when you enter Canada. I believe there is a nominal fee attached, but I'm not sure.As far as exporting your personal weapon for hunting purposes, you should contact your nearest USCustoms Officefor all the details.

For more specifics on bringing a gun into Canada I suggest you might call the Canadian Firearms Registry at : (800) 731-4000. If you do call there, be patient. You will have to go through a few prompts.

Hey rem700man.
I have to go with the x-mountie on your question. He'd certainly be more knowlegable than I on that one.

That just goes to prove that the squeaky hinge really is the 1 that gets the oil first.
