RE: Pro Hunter 375
Reloader 15 and 260gr AB or Hornady 270gr SP.
You can also go to the Barnes TSX 235gr.......for a good all around bullet. http://webpages.charter.net/375magnum/load.htm |
RE: Pro Hunter 375
270gr SP
They're loading those lighter bullets nowadays, but I don't see much of an advantage, also if you're gonna shoot that light, switch guns...I think past 200yds, not that you would shoot 300 or 400yds but the 270s keep their veolicty etc...better thant hose lighter bullets, due to higher BC so the advantage of lighter bullets I don't really understand. If you want faster/flatter in a .375 use the 270grainers. |

RE: Pro Hunter 375
Well here in Mississippi we can hunt with anything above a 35 cal. during our muzzleloader season as long as it has a hammer , i have been shooting the 444 for 2 years now and love it i got the 375 h&h for more range and i needed a elk gun also,so thats the reason i have it my 444 falls out after 225 yards i needed a 300 yd gun and now i have it , i just have to stand up to it haha.

RE: Pro Hunter 375
Now Stalkingbear - you know those whitetails in MS are huge. And you never know when one is going to charge you and you have to drop it right there!
Switchback - Well you have a good argument for getting the 375 H&H regarding the regs in your state. It is a fine old cartridge and capable of killing any land animal. And in some African nations, it is considered the minimum cartridge required. It is a bit of overkill even for elk but dead is dead. And with the right bullets you will get good trajectory and maybe even less meat damage than with a smaller bullet like a 7mm or 243. |
