.416 Ruger
Basically a .375 Ruger necked up to .416
http://www.hornady.com/story.php?s=790 http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2008/11/16/new-416-ruger/ Unlike the .375, the .416 in my view will have far less competition, and perhaps will become a success as well as a great cartridge. Much easier to talk a guy into a .416 Ruger over a .416 Rem or .416 Rigby than talking a guy into a .375 Ruger instead of a .375H&H. |
RE: .416 Ruger
Interesting but I doubt I'll ever go elephant hunting... so I'll leave it for others. I do like these collaborative effort projects though.

RE: .416 Ruger
I know ruger/hornady release the .300 RCM and .338 RCM, while the 300 RCM seems usless since we have the .300 WSM, the .338 RCM did offer a little something, but really I think a .338-375Ruger sounds even better. Maybe that'll be next after the .416 Ruger.

RE: .416 Ruger
I would buy a 300 Ruger if they released it. 300 Weatherby performance in an 06 length action.

RE: .416 Ruger
It'll probably be another classic case of the wildcat's of a cartridge being more popular than the parent case...
ie, a .300-375 Ruger, .338-375 Ruger, .416 Ruger.... |
