Hey all, anybody got there hands on one of these bedded in the synthetic stock? I'm tempted to get one in .280 remington, but the stock looks kinda slick, but i havent got a chance to paw one yet...

I handled one a few weeks ago it felt a lot like my Ruger M77 Mark II. The factory trigger was a lot better and the stock is a little slimmer. Over all it felt a bit better. Its an improvement on the Mark II which is my go to.

Essentially it is a MKII with a slimmed down stock and light weight profile.

I handled one last fall. They felt good. I liked the Tikka T3 better but would have been very happy with the Ruger.

I like the new Rugers. Solid and well built. The new trigger was certainly better but still could use some improvement IMO. Timney = better.

Timney as of yet does not make a replacement trigger for that Ruger it is not interchangeable with the MK II

Old Elk, you are so right. What I meant was a reference (probably not well done tho) to improving the trigger over and above the new one. IMO, Timney's have always been a decent upgrade on comparable rifles.

are the all weather stocks slick or do they have decent grip...i handled a tika a few weeks ago and the stock was slicker than a minnows peter in an oil spill..how do these rugers feel?

I really don't see the problem with ruger triggers-they are very easily tuned/slicked up,I've done dozens.

stalkingbear is correct. any decent gunsmith can lighten/tune a mk2 trigger inshort order.
