RE: Ruger 77 Hawkeye

are the all weather stocks slick or do they have decent grip...i handled a tika a few weeks ago and the stock was slicker than a minnows peter in an oil spill..how do these rugers feel?

Well I have not felt a minnows peter in awhile but my Tikka stock does seem a little slick and can imagine it would be slicker in a downpour:D

I have been thinking of masking off the stock except the checkering part and spraying it with brownells spray grit.

I don't see why it wouldn't work and if you use an xacto knife on the masking tapeyou can put the spray grit right where you need it and people will not be able to tell the difference..

For the price you cannot beat the quality of it in a rifle. I enjoy my Mark II stainless synthetic.
