what do you guys thing i should get for varmit hunting. a 20 inch barrel or a 24 inch barrel. in .223.

It all depends. I would personally go with the 24". Most varmint hunting your not going to be doing too much carrying the gun. But if you plan on carrying it alot then i would get the 20". I shoot a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless in 300 WSM and its a great gun. I was looking at the T3 Tactical in 223 for a target gun.

ok. i was kinda thinking it would be more accurate, but its not alaways that way. the 24'' is alot harder to find.

With newer barrels they are all about the same. You might notcie a little more accuracy IF you reload your own ammo and test every little different thing you could do to the round. Other then that i wouldnt worry about it. My 300 WSM shoots just over 1" with the cheapset Winchester Super-X power points i could find. I havnt tryed anything else in it yet.

I would go with the 24" because it will allow for a bit more velocity, which can make a lot of difference when shooting varmints at extended ranges.

does it have a bull barrel on it or standard.

Yes the Tactical dose have a bull barrel. BSa scopes are normally fine on a gun with minimal recoil like a 223. I have one on my 204 and it has not failed me. Mine si the target model not the sweet model. I dontlike the sweet model scopes. A mil-dot is so much better.

ok. i just like the sweet one because i can adjust it for distance. all i need then is a range finder.

Just be sure to test it before you rely on it. I use a mil-dot because i know its not going to change n me and i was trained when i was in the Marines how to use one. I kow someone that had a Cabelas Sweet style scop for a 17 HMR and it was off even at 200 yards. The gun they test it with could have alot different shot characteristics then the rifle you have. He ended up shooting 20gr ammo and using the 17gr turrets because they were closest.

is the rail on the reciver removable and how long is it.

Yes the rail should be removable but i dont know if it would have the normal Tikka scope mounts on it. As for you getting one with a 24" barrel i dont know where you saw one at but the Beretta website dose not show that they import a 24" barrel model. They ahve to models both with 20" barrles. One in 223 and the other in 308. Here is the link.

the reason i wanted to see if it was removable is so i can put a longer rail to add a yukon nvm to it.

The link you have is from the actual Tikka website. They are in Finland and dont import all the models they make. Beretta imports tme and has them on their website under the rifle page. IM sure you could put a longer rail on it. IM not sure how lont the rail it comes with it is.
