I don' t know about the rifles, but I know that kimber makes a fine handgun. Just a quick question--Why would you go with a short magnum and not just get the full caliber?

smitty03,the reason for choosing Ashort mag is because I dont believe kimber offers the full length mags at this time. I am glad you brought this question to my attention because it reminds me of another question. so here it is, are belted mags less accurate than unbelted? and are they harder on throats than unbelted. I would appreciate all the help I can get.

Belted cases ARE MOST ASSUREDLY NOT less accurate than non-belted cases! I have a 7mm Rem. Mag. that shoots three different bullet weights into 1" groups at 200 yards. That' s hard to beat with any kind of case design!!
