ORIGINAL: BTM

Scott Newman, a bear guide in Petersburg AK, was horribly mauled a few years ago when his Sako jammed on him as he was tracking a client's wounded bear. I saw his scars and the defective bolt last fall. Ask him what he thinks of Sakos.

(There. That ought to stir things up a bit!)

Kinda stupid and naive to trash a gun manufacturer because of a jamming issue that could have been related to a multitude of possibilities, anything from a dirty action to a faulty reload. I guess you can't afford a Sako!

FWIW most push feed bolt action rifles and most CRF's without some action work will be prone to jamming at the most inopportune time. I trust their action over most anything out there and they are a fine action as you can buy.

The idea of a Sako being prone to jamming makes me laugh. If they are not thesmoothest action available on any rifle, I don't know what is. They make my Weatherby Mark V feel like a cheap import by comparison.

I use a modified L691...very modified...I shoot playing cards at 800 meters with .270 Weatherby. I'm old enough that I don't walk well; but, I sit well enough with 19 lbs. of a very well/precision made weapon to put elk on the table. Never...never has failed me in cold, snowy, freezing weather at 11,500'. I have absolutely no complaints...being a SEAL...you take care of your weapon and it will go home with you. They aren't made to be clubs!!!

Well, I did order that Sako A7 Synthetic Stainless model in 7MM.

I've been waiting for about four months now for it to arrive (I know - Thanks O-bomb-a).

I have not shot one yet but, I have handled one and it sure fits me well and the bolt is like butter (I understand that it willbein by the end of this month........excited !!!
