Problem with buying american these days is half the american companies are selling rifles made in eastern europe or the former soviet union or other foriegn contry. The Remington is imported, and the Winchester Wildcat is soviet made.

Where's your computer made? all you TV's DVD layers, other elctronics made? Chances re even your "American" veg=hicle is foreign assembled too. (ain't unions great ) Buy quality regardless of where's it's from. Why spend twice for what a one time buy should provide?

Should get the chipmunk .22 and and put a scope longer then your lil' rifle, would be a hell of a lil' gun lol

I can't shoot 1" groups at 100 yards, but I shoot a lot of squirrels with my Browning BL 22 and subsonic ammo. Solid points....no damage and no noise to scare other squirrels in the same tree or near by....

Don't for get the Ruger 77/22 its a fine bolt rifle. Mine shoots either CCI Green tag or Ely EPS very well ten shot groups at fifty yards can be covered by a dime easy.
