I have had nothing but good luck with the 2 that I have. Good gun for the money.[8D]

I' ve a had a few Mossbergs, and two of them 835' s with one being camo. The camo seemed pretty durable and still looked new after two seasons of goose hunting. The only problem I ever had and a couple of buddies had the same problem, was sometimes the gun would not chamber a shell after ejecting a spent hull. These guns were broken down and cleaned after each use, so I can' t blame it on being dirty. If you have your heart set on one, by all means buy it. I still believe Mossbergs are a good gun for the money and if there is a problem with it, they carry a decent warranty or opt to have a local gunsmith check it out. Also Remington 870' s and Benelli Nova pumps can be had in camo and 3 1/2" chamber for under $400.00. If you want to hunt turkey exclusively, I would go with a short barrel with extended choke tube.

I' ve turkey hunted with an 835 for the last nine years. Mine has a Hastings extended turkey choke tube. I use Winchester 3.5 inch shells with 2.25 ounces of #4 shot. It' s a real turkey thumper. You just have to be careful when ejecting a shell. I like mine. As for camo, the woodland camo pattern costs quite a bit less, and works just as well as the fancy camo. However, the Mossy Oak does look nice.
Spend the money you save on calls or decoys. If there are any gun shows in your area, try there. There are usually people walking around trying to sell a used 835.
