Default Upland shotgun for lefty

My daughter is 21 and just completed her hunter safety course. She is a lefty and I'm looking for a light upland shotgun. I'm looking at the Browning BPS but their upland only comes in 21 in. barrel in 12 ga. Any suggestions? Thanks

Not a bad idea. I thought a 20 might be a little light in case she ever went duck hunting with me. The 3 in. chamber, however, might solve most of that

Get her the micro bps and use chokes/loads accordingly.

20 gauge will do it to ducks. And even geese if you stay within 35 yards and pull out in front of the head. Certainly ample for ducks, and though I don't recommend it for geese, it has been done.

Ithaca model 37's are also bottom ejectors. But the bps will probably be easier to find.

I bought a 20 Guage Charles daily auto a few years back. I handles the 3 inch shells and I love the gun.. I bought it for a back to my Franchi 12, but ended up using it as my primary just because it handles so well.

Wetpwdr,

For a nice light weight smooth swinging perfect gun for a lefty, look no further than an Ithaca featherlight. They can be had pretty cheap and the older ones were actually made better. The thing is most are fixed choke and the barrels are really thin. Many come with a poly-choke though. I absolutely love my 16 gauge, but it's not something you would want to shoot a lot of steel through. The newer ithacas have interchangeable chokes and can be had in 3" chamber for the 20 and 12 gauges.

get her a good over under. The newer models will shoot the 3 to 3.5 shells. O/U doesn't matter if you are lefty or righty. Just something to think about.
