PICTURES OF XPLODING BULLET

THE scrathes on shell is of me trying to clean it up and just make it easier to see. It was really tough to get you a picture of the primer. It just would not focus right. Trust me though it look like a normal primer with no nicks in it

you don't necessarily need to strike a primer to get it to go off. if it was pressed hard enough I believe that it could go off. I say this because when I first started reloading, I had a primer that go fed incorrectly. as I tried to pop it out with a pick, the pressing on it caused it to go off. No biggie, no powder in the shell, but it went off. Might be what happened in a round about way. Could have been pressed up against something. Just a thought. Maybe not though.

Come on now guys...Have you ever seen a case roll
back like that after throwing one in the fire..B.S man
I have seen the bullet pop right out..Nothing like that..
Looks like it was held by pliers or what ever and the
mouth rolled back as well...

Johnny, I used to be very bad about throwing old crappy ammunition into the burn barrel. I've seen several cases exploded and peeled back just like that flip out of the barrel and land a few feet away. And the very act of heating them hot enough to cook off will discolor the brass. If I didn't know better, I'd say the case in the photo was picked up by my trash barrel.
