Franchi I-12

I've been looking around for a new semi-auto 12 gauge, and the franchi I-12 caught my eye. It looks liek a good all around gun... it says it can put up with the abuse of ducky weather (howling rain, mud, blowing sleet, etc...) because of the Inertia Driven system, and it has the recoil pad which reduces felt recoilsignificantly. Also, it has the vario max system so it can handle dove loads to 3.5 inch turkey loads. But, I'm always skeptical about everything. Those of you who have had experience with this gun. I'd greatly appreciate all of the pros and cons of this gun.

Thanks,

Chris

RE: Franchi I-12

I own about 4 Franchis and they have all been great guns. Very light weight and pretty reliable. I cant comment towards the I12 but if their built as well as the model 48 then I would say it would bea great gun.

I was also looking at the Franchi I12 last month. I asked the gunsmith at our local Gander Mountain (very reputable person) about that shotgun and he told me that he has seen a few of the newer models come back for warranty repair. I was concerned about that comment and ended up getting a Benelli M2 instead.

Which model are you looking at? The I-12 is a 3" Inertia operated model and the 3 1/2" vario max system is the Gas operated Franchi 912.
