Can you put?

A stud for a sling into the stock of a new sythetic Rem1100 SP. They just don't take into account how usefull a sling is. I don't mind replacing the front Magcap for an aftermarket but I want a decent sling stud in back.

You should be able to drill the hole smaller than the threads on the stud. Fill the opening with jb weld or some other epoxy. Then put your stud in. I've done this on a synthetic bp rifle and a mossberg 835. They have held just fine.

Yes.

Michaels makes a specific drill bit for this which also counter sinks to allow for the unthreaded part of the stud as well as counter sink for the base of the stud to have a flat surface to sit against.

Just drill a hole 2inches from the end of the stock and screw in the swivel stud.
