Fisrt of all I have to ask a question. What is the intent purpose of this set-up? Hunting, target or self defense? I had hunted with T/C Encore with three 15" barrels. 7mmbr. open sights,7mm-08 with a Tasco 4x and 35 Whelen with a Leupold 2x. Also hunted witha 7-1/2" Ruger Super Redhawk 44mag. with a Millet Red Dot Scope on it during deer and elk season, then red dot comes off then goes onto 6-7/8" Ruger Side Slab 22lr. for spring time ground squirrel hunts. Red Dot Scope is faster to put onto target due to no power. It is good for 100yds. due to a 3moa. dot size in scope. If you are planning shooting anything over 100yds. I would recommend a 2x scope. Either in a Leupold or Burris.

if it has to be a scope Burris is as good as it gets for hand guns but stay away from the high power models ,i doubt your arms are short enough to get full uses of the eye relief, 2 power is just about right

I own a Ruger Super Redhawk in .480 Ruger with a 7.5" BBL.

I have a Burris 3-12 Handgun scope, w/ ballistic plex , on it.

It is a great rig. And I don't have eye relief problems.

I also would recommend the Burris. I own a Nikon 2.5 - 8 also....Bought it new ....
It did not hold up to the .480.
I am sending it back for replacement.

RE: Which HandGun Scope ??????

For someones FIRST handgun scope-ALWAYS get a 2x scope of any of the top brands. A 2x-7x will be even better in long term but start out with it set on 2x. The reason for this is the more magnifacation will show pronounced wobble/shaking and has a much smaller exit pupil. This transalates to not being able to "see thru" scope as easy.

It is for deer hunting.
Around 50 yards or so.

Thank You all for the replies.
