Remington 7615 ? has anyone used it yet
 

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has used the 7615 yet (yea or nae) ? Have always liked the 7600 as good field rifles. Have looked at Remingtons information but cant find what the twist rate on the barrel is. A while back there was some posting that the action on these rifles was very stiff not smooth like on the 870, is it getting better with more use? Regards Steve

My FFL got one thru Grice Guns....they handle a lot of the Limited Runs for Remington and he's got one of these two shown here. Go to this site:

I fail to see the use of a pump 223 in a tactical role. I would want an auto loader.

I believe the use of a pump operated weapon is more to do with training and personnel than whats better tactically. There are a lot of ex- military people in the PD's , but not all and you have a bunch of people who have no experience with semi or select fire weapons and they only have to qualify once in a while depending on the PD. or there particular job in that said PD., so a pump actuated weapon is much easier to train & use for a wide variety of personnel with limited or no real back ground in weaponry.

My dad was a state trooper for thirty years and carried a Remington Model 11 (made on Browning patent) for most of those years. He swore by it, and it saved his life once. I wish he would have been able to keep it once he retired, but he was only able to keep his service revolver.

The use of pumps by police has more to do with budgetary constraints than anything, IMHO. But, I'll take either and use them with equal effectiveness.

Thanks for the twist rate RidgeRunner. Have you put thru any 62 gr. bullets or heavier, if so how well do they fly?

Rat, I must say that on the job we use both the 870 and AR. If you want to get someone's attention RACK A ROUND INTO THE CHAMBER OF AN 870.
