RE: Hornady Light Mag
ORIGINAL: stalkingbear Here ya go folks-this is 1 of those times that I stuck my foot in my mouth and commented on these when I didn't know enough about them and with limited 1st hand experience with just a hunt or 2 instead of keeping my mouth shut until I knew for SURE! I didn't realize the accuracy issues. I guess I use the FN SPR as a standard. That rifle shoots everything good. So when it didn't shoot in my friends A-Bolt, and then in the FN, I just assumed. |
RE: Hornady Light Mag
but to say they have accuracy issues is mis-information. None of the light magnum loads were as accurate as some other factory None of the light magnum loads were as accurate as some other factory loads in those particular rifles, and a couple were the worst loads tested.,and a couple were the worst loads tested. in those particular rifles |
RE: Hornady Light Mag
My apologies guys. I should have read more carefully.
I don't love them by the way, and will be switching to a different load in the future. I was pressed for time this year before sight in day, and new I could save time zeroing in for the load my Dad had used. He did use them to take three elk over the last few yearswell hunting with me, and the performance was quite reliable. Just cost more money than Im willing to pay. early |
RE: Hornady Light Mag
Perhaps I am lucky but my Remington Mountain Rifle does very well with them. I shoot .5-.75 inch 3 shot groups woth my light mags.
I have shot them since they came out with no complaints. There have been a few bullets that did not pass completely through when I thought they should have, but I have never last an animal with the round yet. |
RE: Hornady Light Mag
Shame I did not check my typing!!

RE: Hornady Light Mag
I have had ZERO accuracy issues with them in my rifles, and continue to use them.
