Tuarus 45/410 THE JUDGE
 

Well I picked up one of these and after shooting about 70 rounds through it, 40 250gr. swc Magtech loads and 30 of my own 200 gr. cast reloads I am satisfied. I was not impressed at all at first with the Magtech loads, the gun wouldnt group at all, but with the reloads that I worked up things have tightened up to acceptable. I still get the occasional flyer, but that probably has a lot to do with the 1/4 inch of dead space between the chamber and the barrel since it is also chambered for .410 shotshell. I have been testing it at 15 and 30 yards. At the 15 yards I have been getting about 5 inch groups with the occasional flyer, at 30 things start to open up a lot, with only about 3 out of the 5 landing in the 6 inch circle. With the .410 #4 shells at 15 yards the majority of the pellets hit the 12 inch target, which I think is about all that you could ask for a 6.5 inch rifled barrel. The gun doesnt do either thing real well, but it does a descent job of doing both shotgun and pistol. Now lets just hope that it does what I picked it up for and that is carrying in the truck when getting firewood, that way if I see a grouse, or other game animal at close range I can take advanatage of the opportunity. :)

Sounds like a intresting gun- is it like a derringer design?

Thats what I bought. It isnt a perfect gun by any means, but it is smooth. It will also hit a 6 inch target out to about 35 yards or so and with the .410 it should be a heck of a personal defense gun. I almost had a shot on a grouse last night when we went and got a load of wood, but the little sucker flew into the dense cover before I could get a shot off. He was a pretty descent sized one too. Saw 8 deer last night too, 3 of them where little buckers.

Bought the 3" barrell blued one the other day.. Have not shot it yet.. But it has become the personal defense weapon of the house.. Currently have 5 rounds of 410 #4, but am about to replace 3 of them with 45 Colt 225 Grain HP.. Should make a pretty effective defense pistol..

I bought the longer barreled one with hopes of gaining a bit more accuracy at longer ranges than the 5 yards that they say the gun is intended for. I really just have not found many tests done on the gun, so time will tell as to how good of a gun that it is.

I have been trying to talk myself into buying one. Didn't know they were available in 6". What are they running, price-wise?

I paid $430 for mine, but since then I have seen them down to $370. It figures though, that always happens to me lol.

I like the video o fwhat the 410s do to a 'Shoot n See' target from the car window. That ought to ruin a bad guy's day.
