Model 7 Accuracy
What type of accuracy do you guys get with your Model 7's.
The only Model 7 that I've owned, and have since sold,gave acceptable accuracy for a carbine type hunting rifle, averaged aboubt 1 1/2" at 100.Accuracy wasn't the reason I sold it, IMO it was i good hunting rifle.
I have several hunting buddies that have Model 7's, seems like 1 1/2 is a about normal for them,
The real question is can I expect better if I buy another Model 7, thinking about adding another 7mm-08 or maybe even a 260 to the gun cabinet this time.

I have the blued/laminate in .243 and was having a terrible time with core-loct and fusion factory ammo. Groups of 2" were too common, and many times they would spread out to 5 or more inches at 100 yds. I have since purchased reloading equipment and with a little help from my friend brought the groups down to .75-1" at 100 yds. Needless to say, this is the first remington rifle that I have ever owned and I was a little disappointed. But, it introduced me into a new hobby so that's a good thing. This was purchased 2 years ago and is on the schnabel type stock.

I've a friend with a Model Seven in 7mm RUM (I believe). Anyway, it's very accurate in his hands. At our last range session, he shot a 5 shot group of less than .75 inches at 100 yards. Thats quite good for out-of-box accuracy with no trigger work or anything. You could do alot worse.

I have one in .300 SAUM...it will shoot .75 groups all day long with DANZACed 150 spitzers over 64.0 grains of H-4350...with my deer hunting bullets..BARNES 150 XLC's it about 1.25-50...more than enough for any deer...great little rifle..

I have a Remington Model Seven SS in .243 Win and my groups are about 1" or less. No tinkering done on the gun either. I just had to get the right brand and style of ammo that it likes to shoot best, every gun is slightly different on what that is exactly. It's my favorite rifle that I'm the most accurate with out to about 200yards on deer and coyote.
