Rossi triple threat
Morning guys,...Need some feed back.Have a friend that is looking at a RossiTriple Threat for his 12 yr.old sons birthday.Told him I knew nothing about this gun but knew folks that did.Can anybody filll me/him in on this gun?Particularly ease of barrel swap, accuracy, pet loads etc.Would greatly appreciate your experience and advice. He says that he wanted a .243 for the boy but after seeing this it looked like a possibility. If this is not such a good idea, any suggestions on adecent entry level .243? Thanks a bunch..hunt4me

RE: Rossi triple threat
my dad has the 50cal muzzleloader (same platform i beleive), and im not all than impressed with it. the rear sight has to be slid WAAAYY over to the right of th barrelto make it shoot straight and the break release button for the action has a really notchy feel. it works i guess.

RE: Rossi triple threat
rossis are good guns for like a first gun, but if hes willing to pay for a .243 get a better one like a savage.

http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/youth/model_770.asp ive never shot one, but you cant go wrong with remington. we own 3 870's and have never had a problem with any. |
RE: Rossi triple threat
I have a couple of the matched pairs and they are OK guns. The change over is easy enough and they are accurate enough. Put a descent 3X9 scope on it and it will be a great first gun. My 14 year old son loves the one in .223/12 gauge and I like the .243/20 gauge which I will end up giving to my 5 year old in a couple of years when he starts hunting with me (and after he has finished hunter safety). For the money they are just fine.

RE: Rossi triple threat
Rossi no longer makes the Tripple Threat, now they call it the Trifecta. The price has gone up slightly but they can now be had in synthetic with a removable cheek piece. I did find a few Tripple Threat packages on Gunbroker for about $200. I just ordered a Trifecta package for my daughter in .243/22/20g for Christmas. This will be a good first gun for her, we can use the 22 out back. She did pass the hunter safety course this year but she will not shoot this year, perhaps next season if she's able to shoot well enough.
