i just got a remington 725 in 30/06 with a Bausch & Lomb Balvar scope for $300. the guns in grade A shape. what do you know about this gun. i know it was made between the 721 and the 700. I now have a 721, 725, and a 700 all in 30/06. did i get a good deal.

You know ya got a good deal. Congrats! The good thing about those older rifles is they last forever when cared for properly. I had 1 of em in a few months ago to rebarrel and after a GOOD bore cleaning,it was shooting like NEW! No rebarreling needed.

Get a good deal??? Boy, I guess you did!! Anytime you want to sell it, I'll be MORE than happy to give you what you paid!
I've had a 725 in .280 Rem. since 1963. It was my first deer rifle, and have taken it to Canada for moose and bear also. They were and still are, great rifles. How do you like that safety?
Congrats on a great purchase. Also, you may want to check some of the gun rag publications and gun shows to see what people are asking for them. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

the only thing i don't like about it is the safety.

Boy I'm gonna have to go look at mine, because as I remember it, it has a 3-position safety....safe, load/unload, an fire, just as th Model 70's do. I think that's a great feature, personally..............
