You can't go wrong with a Rem 870...has to be the most popular pump gun of all time....

I own a 870 Express and am really happy with it. The 870 is also used inlaw enforcement so that should tell you a little about its reliability. Its a no frills gun that shoots 2 3/4 and 3" shells. Not that bad of a kick using 3" 12s. The only thing is that you need to practice the pump to get a good second shot off.

The combo is the best deal, I wish I would have done it now that I'm looking at purchasing a second barrel.

Enjoy your new 870.

Got my Wingmaster 870 over 30 years ago and it's still my favorite shotgun. Mine is a 2¾" only but it does most anything the longer rounds can do just as well, with less pain involved. The longer "magnum" shells just throw more shot behind your target when you miss.

Congrats on the new gun and good luck with it.

I bought a Remington 870 (12/28), shot it for the first time last weekend. This gun does not kick!!! It shoots smooth out the box. I bought mine brand new at Bass Pro shops! I recommend it, buy it!

Your kidding ...right.... the 870 is a great gun. Dependable and trustworthy. I do not know of one of my huntin buddies that does not have this gun in their collection. Usually a starter gun yet ends up being the "old dependable"
