Default Remington 700 LSS

Anybody with any experience with this rifle. I am a 700 fan and really like the look/feel of the grey laminate stock. I know they no longer make this version, but a local shop still has a new one in .243. He's asking $600.

I have been debating over this rifle, or getting an SPS and then putting a decent laminate or synthetic stock on it.

PaJack,

What do you think of the rifle? How has accuracy been? Did you have to do anything with the stock after you got it?

Well, I put the gun on layaway last week and plan to pick it up this Friday. I am thinking about putting a Zeis Conquest 3-9x40 on it. One question about that is how well a Butler creek scope cover will fit it. Anybody found a good solution for this?

The Zeiss Conquest would be an execelent choice,I own 2 a 3-9-50mm and a 4.5-14-44mm! If you want a good deal let me know,I bought both of mine from a guy off of e-bay and saved a lot of money...

The 700 LSS with its stainless action and grey laminated stock is my all-time favorite Remington rifle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Choose one in 30-06 Spfd, 270 Win, or 7mm Rem. Mag. Top it with a quality Zeiss or Leupold scope and you'll have a fine hunting rifle.
