.25-06 ammo

i've been using Federal Premium 117 gr.SIERRA GAMEKING BTSP. i haven't had the chance to shoot anything but paper with them yet. what does everyone else shoot out of their .25-06?

I have used both the 100 grain and 115 grain Nosler Ballistic tips for deer. Both work very well and I can see little difference in terminal performance.

Nosler is the best in my opinion.....85 gr for yotes and 115 for deer

I don't shoot a 25-06, but I shoot 100 gr sierra GKs out out my 243 and 6mm-06 with great success. Gamekings are good bullets and perform well on light skinned game.

I should add that I like the Sierra Pro-Hunter bullets as well. They are accurate like the GK's but a tougher bullet.

I used 120 gr. Fusions to bang two Kentucky deer last fall. Worked great, but the longest shot was only 160 yards.

I have not tried the Fusions in the 25-06. However I love them in the 270. Best factory load going.

For factory loads, I am shooting the Hornady light magnum 117 grain. The handloads are either 100 grain speer or 120 grain speer hotcore. They reach a long ways, and kill like lightening. I have found over the years, that a 25 06 prefers to be loaded fairly hot, and that the 100 grain is extremely accurate.

i've shot both sierra game king (federal) and hornady light magnum in 117 grains and my 25-06 loves them both. i have killed several deer with both loads.

Gamekings are great game bullets. I've killed more hogs with Gamekings in my .223 than any other bullet. They have never failed.

As for me, I've tried Accubonds, but haven't had good luck with them so far. I'm working up some more loads, and trying some more bullets, but so far the 75 grain Hornady V-max's have been the most accurate. I shoot mostly coyotes with the .25-06 anyway, and they work great for that.
