Pay close attention to pages 5 and 6. They illustrate how to break down the Model 60 for cleaning. Once you do it enough times, you can do it blindfolded.

What ButchA said. Read the manual and it is a breeze. Takes for bloody ever but after 18 years with mine it is still going strong. Well at least that is what the wife says. LOL She does share MY rifle very well. LOL

The Marlin Model 60, also known as the Glenfield Marlin Model 60, is a semi-automatic rifle and the most popular .22 LR rifle in the world, based on the number sold. Produced since 1960, it is still in production by the Marlin Firearms Company of North Haven, Connecticut. Major features include a micro-groove barrel, a cross-bolt safety, hardwood stock, and brass inner magazine tube. It remains one of America's best selling rifles today.
I have a Marlin mod 99M1 that I bought in the early 70's.

I picked up a mdl 60 in stainless 2 years go and have been very impressed with it. It shoots very well out to 60+ yards with a cheapy tasco 3X9 scope on it and goes quite a few rounds between mandatory cleanings. For the $150 that I paid for it new, I just cannot see how I went wrong with the little guy.

Excellent little 22LR at a bargin price. I've had one for 30+ years now. I've shot the day lights out of it. Itg doesn't shoot as good as it used to (afterapprox. 20Krounds, whaddya expect), but shoots good enough. Stillfunctions fine with certain ammo, a couple other types of ammo it will fail to feed. To clean it take it out of the stock, lock the bolt open and spray the day lights out of the entire action, with break cleraner or gun scrub, apply light lubercation like CLP or Break-Free, then put it back together.
