The 116 has a very thin bbl for big mag calibers IMO. I helped my nephew get one and load for it. It is a one shot gun in his 7mm mag cal.....it heats up and scatters rounds. Also it is light and recoil is a bit harsh in big calibers.
I like the gun myself and I would think that in a 7mm-08 it would be an AWESOME whitetail gun. That said, the Tikka T3 is a better choice for not much more money. Give it a look! dave |

Both the 116 and the Tika are a good comparison, IMO. Personally I would opt fot the 116 or 16, probably the 16 because I want a 7mm-08 for my son (and me) :D. I just like the trim and fit better on the 16. Plus, Tika sounds like a name for a toy.
