Browning BLR new takedown model
Anyone have one yet? I have the BLR lightweight in 708 but am lusting for a takedown model.

RE: Browning BLR new takedown model
No,I do not have 1 of them yet. With almost ANY takedown centerfire rifle, you have to wonder about repeatablity of return to zero after numerous takedown cycles.
Having said that,I can't wait until I get 1 in .358win caliber. |

I don't have one, they look pretty nice, but for $700 something I think that I would pass.

I can imagine that a .358 would pack quite a punch. What willyou be using it on? |
RE: Browning BLR new takedown model
On the takedown model does the barrel come off or does the Buttstock?
I think that there is an after marketcomversion kit to make a normal BLR a takedown by easy buttstock removal. (I do wonder what the ATF thinks of that) I have BLR ( an old steel reciever) in 358 and its a cool little gun. |

The barrel comes off.
It looks like it would make a about a 20 inch package |
RE: Browning BLR new takedown model
I really don't see the need for a takedown unless you routinely backpack in or use a float plane. Why compromise the integrity of that rifle so your gun case is shorter? Also you need to go with a scout type scope. Nahh, its not my thing at all.
