Im thinking about trading.Should I or Not?
Yeah well I have a .243 whinchester model 70 but its a little old and i dont hunt with it but i dont want to get rid of it.On the other hand i can trade for almost brand new .25-06 ruger s/s.
What should i do? what would you do? |
RE: Im thinking about trading.Should I or Not?
Id keep it and start saving up for the Ruger. I wont get rid of or trade any of the guns I've bought. Theres not a huge difference in moving up to a quarter bore from a 243. You'll have a varmit/deer-antelope gun either way.

That thing is a piece of junk. Since I am such a nice guy, I'll buy it from you for $100 bucks, but only because I am so nice. :D
Well, actually, I'll tell you if you have ANY reservations about getting rid of it, DON'T DO IT. You will hate yourself later. At least that is the way I have felt about the couple guns I have sold to get another gun. |
RE: Im thinking about trading.Should I or Not?
Since you don't hunt with the .243 I would take the newer gun.
But not knowing exactly which guns these are, I would keep the one with the higher value, both monetary and otherwise. |
RE: Im thinking about trading.Should I or Not?
Will the other party sell the gun outright? If he would, then I would try to just buy it if it is something that you are truely interested in. But if you dont hunt anymore and dont shoot much either, then I would just keep the .243 around for just in case. There isnt really a much better intermediate bottom line hunting rifle around thats better than a .243.
