H&R single shot

I just bought a H&R ultra rfle in 25-06. I read alot about these guns and wanted to see for my self if they would shoot, I am pleasantly surprised. The one I bought has a 26 inch barrel on it & a simmons 3x9x40 scope on it.At 75 yards it shoots a .50 inch group (3 rounds). With a little work on the trigger I think I can shoot better than that. After Deer season I think I'll send it to the factory and get a 30-06 & a Muzzle loader barrel put on it. In my opinion these are very good shooting inexpensive rifles.(under 300 dollars)

I just bought the 280 rem. with the 26" barrel . It cost me $198.00 out the door from a local dealer . I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet ,but if it shoots like the 45-70 I have in the buffalo gun I will be happy. I looked at the 25-06 but I already have that round in another gun .

The shotgun ultraslug guns in 12 and 20 guage are good shooters.
