Should be getting that 788 this week. Its gonna get the 1.75x5. It has a Tasco on it that will probably end up in blackpowder service...lol. I see Timney makes a trigger for those 788's. Im thinking at the 30/30 velocity once again the 150 bt should be perfect. I wonder if you load a bolt 30/30 any different.

You can load with the same data. Your length can differ a little. There is no better bullet on the planet for the 30-30 bolt or single shot than the SPEER 150 Grain MAG TIPS. Even at 2100 fps from the 14 inch Contender, they mushroom just great and still penetrate well. You gotta try them to believe it. That bullet still holds together well at 300 Savage and 308 velocities. For a while they were not being manufactured but now they are back.
