Actually I can say coreloks perform well on most game. Better than gamekings. Just factory loadings, COL is all over the place, runout.

I don't like Game Kings since a friend showed me a bottle of Game king jackets that he had recovered from game. I never used them much anyway. The Pro-Hunter seems to be a tougher bullet and have worked well for me on deer. Even the lighter ones with fairly low SD. I stay away from shoulder shots with Pro-Hunters like the 120 grain in the 280.

I haven't shot factory ammo for years....but when I did the Corelokt was never a problem to me....I can never recall being disappointed.....but in them days hitting an orange at 100 yards was good enough......we have to do hens eggs today!!!!!

its all what your gun likes my rem 7mmag loves 150 gr corelockts better than any factory ammo ive tryed but wifes handi rifle hates them but still 2 find a load that her rifle likes

I thought I was the only one I had the same problem with the newer Cor-lots I had sighted in my Remmington 742 30-06 with the 150 grain 3 years ago and they sighted in perfectly. Last year I bought another box and went to check it. And I got the same disasteress results you are talking about seems like I must be doing somthing wrong. I had a few left in my old box and they grouped perfect again.I double checked all the lot numbers they matched. I thought I got a bad box so I went to a different store and bought another box and still had the same bad results. I had to go to Federal peermier and had great results. I don' t know what they did but I will never use them again except for function checks. Mike

Haven't used factory ammo in years but when I did, the Remingtons always performed very well. Wouldn't hesitate to buy them today ifn I really needed factory ammo.

Its not unusual for the same ammo but from different lot numbers may change POI or other flukes. If I find a good factory load, I buy several boxes from the same lot number. I remain convinced thatcorlokts are a good bullet for a non premium type bullet. Federal makes some good ammo too I am certainly not knocking them.

Cor-lockd bullets are yesterday's technology, They have killed numerous animals and still could. But the fact that there is now and ultra version of the bullet tells me that they recognized that it needed improvement. I use only partitioned or bonded bullets for anything bigger than a whitetail. It's pretty much just the idividual rifle in cases like this. I found a long time ago that the variation in how a particular rifle will shoot one type factory ammo in comparison to another can be stunningly different. And sometimes there appears to be no rhyme or reason to it either. I've got one rifle (a Browning A-bolt in 7mm-08) that I havetest fired withjust about every type of factory ammo out there. What does itgroup best? Cheap ass Winchester power points.

I have never had a major problem with a rifle and Cor-Lokts. Had some guns that really liked them and some that were justokay with them but I can't recall one that grouped over 1.5 inches with them. I have a buddy who shoots the 120 gr Cor-Lokt out of his 25-06 and his rifle will shoot1 inch 3 shot groups with them.

I always found them to be a very accurate bullet but one of the most frangible lead tip bullets out there. I think they have a thinner jacket than most cup and core type bullets. I shotthe Federal Gamekingsfor a while in my 25-06. They would group under 1 inch all day from my Tikka but they came apart like a hand grenade in deer. I use 117 gr Hornady Interlocks in it now. I really like the Interlocks for a standard lead tip bullet.
