CZ makes a top notch rifle. They have a single set trigger too.
HCH.......Of course if Iwas to want an accurate varmint rifle I would buy an AMERICAN MADE Savage [/align]

I've read very mixed reviews about CZ. Of the ones I've seen and handled I was exactly that way...mixed.....
There's a lot of guns to buy that have strong reputations.....with CZ you just might have a real great gun. then again......

excellent equipment. you get a pretty sophisticated rifle for the money. adjustable set triggers, pretty nicely figured walnut, very strong and accurate mauser action, and a hard won reputation for reliability under stressful conditions. like most mausers, though, a little lapping paste and lots of cycling of the bolt will improve things noticably.

in the rimfires, they have dominated the australianmarket for decades ( brno No1's etc were huge sellers through the 50's and 60's), and with good reason. very nice little rifles, and half the priceof anschutz, kimber et al

I recently got the CZ 527 Varmint in .223, it has a maple stock and heavey barrel with the set trigger. And I love it!

I have their heavy barrel .17HMR and am very impressed. The quality (fit and finish) I think far exceed some of the best efforts from the big three in center fire rifles. This is essentially a .22 that has excellent wood and metal finish that would compare to any centerfire rifle. No experience with their other models but they have my attention now.

ORIGINAL:
Ive been wanting to get a varmint gun for a while now but havent settled on a brand.Ive taken a liking to the cz-usa american hunter models but would like to know if they are any good.
Did you ever get one? How is it?

I've thinking about a American 550 for my next purchase and I'd love to hear what you (and others) think.
