Comp Stocks??

Has anyone shot the Knoxx Industries recoil reducing stocks for rifles?? I tend to be a bit recoil shy (Hanging my head in shame) at the range. Mostly shooting .308 and have a couple muzzlebraked and really like them as they make a .308 feel akin to a .223.As you know the problem is increased niose and blast. Not the my braked .308 is any louder than the guy flinching next to me with his 7mm rem or some other cannon. In the field I don't hear or feel a thing when I shoot and unscrew and cap the brake. My question really is do the Comp Stocks work and are they reliable and isthe old smitty required. They only make them for a couple of actions ( Ruger, Rem, ect ). Before anyone suggestsless of a caliber, Iuse the .308 cause I think it will cover just about any game I will ever get the chance to hunt andmy 12 year old daughter shoots a muzzled braked model seven SS with the reduced recoil rounds and loves it. The boy shoots a slick Micro medallian and he loves it.Help

Keep the mud out of your pipe.

I don't know about the Knoxx but will really help is a Limbsaver recoil pad it cuts felt recoil by about 40% and the do work and all they cost is $30.00 a lot less than a stock. try one I think you will like it. Just my 2 cents

RE: Comp Stocks??

Lastmonth, I shot a Remington 870 that had the Knoxx stock. It was pretty interesting . . . the stock doesn't "unlock" and collapse until a certain amount of recoil hits it. With the low brass cheap Walmart loads, it didn't break loose. But with 00 Buckshot, the mechanism allowed the stock to unlock and reduced recoil a bunch. Only issue I would potentially have with a rifle is eye reliefbehindthe scope.
