Taurus 44 Mag

Have any of you guys tried the Taurus 44 Mag Double Action revolvers? Not the Raging Bull but the standard Revolver. I have been looking at all of the options and although the Ruger is the top dog in Durablility and good shooter, I liked the feel of the Taurus and the weight. I have had a lot of Taurus 357 and 44 Special revolvers but have not owned their 44 Mag. Any expierences here with this gun?

a friend has one.....I've shot it....it's a fine gun.....the ports in the barrel seem to really help with muzzle jump and recoil.....I also like his rubber grips.

My father actually has one(8.75 inch barrel)and loves it!! i personally shot it and its very well balanced and not much recoil and i love it, your making a right choice by picking the taurus imo.. My ruger super black hawk with a 45 colt (7.5inch barrel) has more recoil then it..

My brother had one and sold it. The cylinder would occasionaly jump open on recoil, especially when shooting 300 grain handloads.
I own two Taurus .38's and love them, even with +P loads. But for a big bore, go with aRuger or Smith.

I have had Smiths do that to. However whichever gun does it, its not right and something is out of adjustment. Tausus would have fixed it no questions asked. As will Smith. I have returned them to S&W and have had no trouble with their service department.
