Savage magazine detatchable?

Just wondering how are savage rifles loaded and unloaded with their magizine system. Are the magazines detatchable? Or do you have to load and unload the rifle through the top of the rifle. According to savage they have a "top loading internal box magazine" I'm just looking for clarification. Thanks

RE: Savage magazine detatchable?

bigpapa, savage have models with internal box mags (top load) like the Model 16FSS, Hinged Floor Plate (top load but can unload by release the floor plate) like the Model 16FCSS and Detatchable Mag like in the Model 16FHSAK. These are just example other models may apply, just go to the Savage website and explore the models of interest. You'll find it will saynear the top of the product pageif it has a Hinged or DM, if it states nothing it will be a internal box mag (the majority of savages have traditionally used this mag system).

Good Luck

I had a 110E savage 30-06 years ago and it was an internal box mag loaded from the top without the hinge I think. I actually prefer an internal mag to a removable one myself.
