Remington reduced recoil slugger slug
 

Any one used this slug in a rifled barrel? Remington claims it has enough energy for shots out to 80 yds. but it doesn't say how much energy it still has at that range. How is the accuracy? Looking at this slug because of the reduced recoil and the price. Thanks, Scott Woody

I looked and couldn't find anything either. Remingtons site sort of sucks, not very much info. If I could figure out what the muzzle velocity was I could figure it out pretty easily with a ballistics calculator.

Ok, I just found that the managed recoil Buckhammers have 1032 ft/lbs of energy at 100 yards.

Alright, I just found a picture of the box for one of the managed recoil rifled slugs in 12 gauge 2 3/4 with one ounce slugs. It says 1200 fps. That equals around 970 ft/lbs at 100 yards and 1030 ft/lbs at 80 yards.

A hunting partner took a large doe with the reduced recoil loads at 40yds. It was quartering at him and it broke the shoulder and reached the vitals. Actually its performance was pretty impressive not lacking power at all.

I 've used remington's reduce recoil and federal's truball reduce recoil and they both perform great but used it in a smooth bore barrel. I wouldn't mine shooting them for deers, But I wouldn't really shoot over 50 yards because the drop is too great and you might not hit where you want too. Standard 1 ounce 2 3/4" works great for me.
